Heater Control Valves Description: Thermotion Heater Control Valves are designed and manufactured to meet O.E.M. requirements. Our valves provide ON/OFF or bypass of engine coolant flow through the heater core of vehicle heating/defrost systems. Specifications: Inlets: 5/8" (15.88mm), 3/4" (19.05mm) Outlets: 5/8" (15.88mm), 3/4" (19.05mm) Yes the heater control valve is located down low in the front and the passengers side. You we need to drain the coolant first. Diagrams below will show you how to replace the valve these guides you need to do before you get started. Here is a guide on that. You can do the job using a hose clamp tool. Here are some diagrams (below) of the how to ...

Heater control valve diagram. The heater control valve installs with the offset side pointed towards the heater. If you install the valve with the offset towards the water pump, the valve may not open due to the water pressure coming from the pump. I had a new valve installed backwards on my 1970, and the valve would not open with the engine above idle speed. The heater control valve allows the flow of coolant through the heater core to be controlled and switched on and off without affecting the operation of the rest of the cooling system. It may be located on the inlet or the outlet port of the heater core and activated by a cable, electronic control, or a vacuum signal. ... I need a diagram showing the hose connections between the heater core/heater control valve and the engine block/heater control valve. My heater control valve is vacuume operated w/ four ports (two large and two small one each entering and leaving). The vehicle is a Chevy suburban K L w/ the rear air conditioning package. The -N633- is activated by the respective engine control unit (e.g. by engine control unit -J623-), if heat output is required from the air conditioning system and the "auxiliary heater" function is activated, but the auxiliary heater itself is not activated (the -Z115- is used for the auxiliary heater function instead) or if the vehicle is in electric drive mode; → Current flow diagrams ...
Heater Control Valve - Repair or Replace A heater control valve diverts hot water (coolant, or antifreeze) from the radiator into the heater core in your vehicle's cabin, resulting in soothing warm air. If your heat has stopped working, your 2003 Toyota may require a replacement heater control valve. heater control valve servo wiring diagram servo heater control valve kit heater control valve potentiometer red/white grey/black white/yellow (rotary) white pink red red 1 amp fuse connect to key on ignition source ground ecu control module figure 3 h •adjust heat knob to desired heat setting (clockwise for more heat). grommets ake hose manifold The heater control valve controls the flow of hot coolant to the heater core in the IHKA housing under the dashboard. If your vehicle has no heat and the cooling system is properly bled, the valve may be faulty. A quick check is to warm the vehicle up and then turn the heat ON; both heater hoses should be hot to the touch. The heater control valve (or hot water valve) toggles open and closed to regulate or prevent hot engine coolant from flowing through the heater core. The heater core is a major constituent part of the heating system. It uses this heated coolant to warm the air supplied to the cabin. There are multiple varieties of valves that all basically ...
I have manual climate control. Thanks for the diagram. I did figure out how to get the controls to cycle the vents. I attached a black vacuum line that comes from the manifold through the firewall just behind the battery and everything works. The only one I cannot figure out is the heater control valve. Figure 8 Testing the heater control valve: The heater control valve is normally open (allowing coolant to flow to the heater core) and closed when the temp setting is on COLD. There is a small plunger (green arrow) that seals the valve when the solenoid receives the correct electrical signal. This plunger can become restricted, reducing coolant flow. The heater control valve is down stream of the heater core. The heater valve is a normally open 2 circuit valve pulsed closed by 2 sylenoid valves, 1 sylenoid valve each for left and right circuits. If you disconnect the electric connection to the heater valve, you should have max heat on left and right sides for heat output.
The purpose of a heater control valve is to control the flow of engine coolant to the heater core, located within the passenger compartment. When the heater or defroster is turned on, warm engine coolant passes through the heater core. Here a fan forces air across the surface of the heater core and then into the passenger compartment where the warm air is felt.

It has an electric plug and 2 small hose barbs on it. From what I read elsewhere, it sounds like that might be what applies the vacuum to turn on the heater control valve. I'm guessing that it electrically opens a valve that allows vacuum from the engine to be applied to the heater control valve.

The heater control valve is typically in line with the heater core's inlet hose, which is often near the vehicle's firewall, but the exact location of the valve will vary by vehicle. To determine the location of your car's valve (if it has one), it's a good idea to consult a repair manual or repair database.

A thermostat control valve will modulate the flow of hot water to maintain a constant temperature selected by the driver. The most common type of heater control valve would be to vacuum operated type. These valves are normally located in the heater hose input line going to the core. They can also be mounted directly in the engine block itself.
